Greenville partnership strengthened
Westminster Seminary UK is delighted to announce the renewal of its partnership agreement with Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary (GPTS).
Located in South Carolina, GPTS has been at the forefront of theological education for more than thirty-five years. By upholding the Westminster Standards and committing to making theological training financially accessible, the seminary has gained an enviable record of preparing and sending out pastors. By God’s grace, over 92% of their divinity graduates continue in pastoral ministry today.
Having partnered with GPTS since 2013, we have seen for ourselves the impact of their approach, which combines biblical faithfulness with academic rigour and pastoral focus. Our renewed partnership agreement assures Westminster’s students of:
A world-class, globally-recognised theological education
GPTS is a Charter Member of the Association of Reformed Theological Seminaries (ARTS), an independent academic accreditation and accountability body working ‘to preserve and advance the academic quality, accountability, and improvement of institutions committed to educating students in the tenets of Reformed Theology’.
In May 2024 ARTS received recognition from the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Westminster students can be assured that their degree programme carries international endorsement at the highest level.
Our faculties working in partnership
GPTS professors have always played an important part in a Westminster education, with pastor-theologians such as Dr Jonathan Master, Dr Ryan McGraw and Dr Joseph Pipa travelling to Newcastle regularly to teach, and Dr Michael Morales scheduled to come in 2025.
This arrangement is strengthened under the new agreement, and incoming President Dr Donald John MacLean will make reciprocal teaching visits to Greenville. Westminster students will also join their US peers in Greenville via an interactive classroom environment for a small number of courses.
As our partnership with Greenville enters a second decade, we give thanks to God for the opportunity to work together to prepare the next generation of pastors and teachers.
