US Ambassador
Full-time | Remote
Westminster Seminary UK is looking for a US Ambassador to join its growing team. Find out more about the role and apply below.
About us
Westminster Seminary UK, the only Confessional and Reformed seminary in England, exists to serve the Church by preparing pastors and missionaries to proclaim Christ everywhere. 100% of Westminster UK’s alumni are involved in pastoral ministry; 40% in church planting.
From August 2026, God-willing, the seminary will be relocating from Newcastle to Oxford, England—giving us the opportunity to expand our work in training the next generation of pastors.
A Westminster UK education is both rich in theology and deep in affection. Our faculty of experienced pastor-theologians is committed to teaching our students in such a way that their love for Christ grows, godly character is formed, and a heart for the lost is cultivated. You can read about our distinctive approach here.
In all we do, we are passionate about and committed to raising up faithful leaders who hold fast the faithful Word and proclaim it wherever Christ calls them.
About the role
We are looking for a faithful and experienced Ambassador to build relationships in the USA to support the work of Westminster Seminary UK. In this role, you will steward existing partnerships with churches and individuals, and build new ones with others who share our vision to raise up and send out faithful ministers who are rooted in the truth of God’s Word and equipped to serve His Church—whether in the UK or to the ends of the earth.
What you’ll do
Reporting to the Director, and working closely with our Bursar, you will:
Develop and implement strategic plans for increasing the number of major gifts, acquiring church partners, and securing scholarships.
Implement best practices for the identification, cultivation and stewardship of individual donors and church partners.
Visit churches and missions committees to present and commend the work of Westminster UK.
Facilitate meetings between our President, Director and Trustees with potential US donors, and oversee donor-related events.
Collaborate with the communications and publications team to create engaging, cohesive development collateral and donor-cultivation pieces.
Ensure that effective systems and accurate records are maintained.
About you
You will be fully aligned with the vision, mission, and distinctives of Westminster UK (and of our partner institution, Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary) and passionate about a new generation of men being raised up to hold fast the faithful Word. You will believe in rigour within education, but desire above all that our students would say, ‘for the love of Christ controls us’. You will be gifted relationally, and eager to use your gifts to win potential US supporters to our mission.
Required qualifications
A living commitment to a faithful, local Reformed church.
A single-minded concern for the honour of the Lord, allied with integrity and humility.
A love for God’s people, and the ability to make and sustain relationships that foster understanding, love, and trust.
The ability to inspire people, whether in writing, public speaking or one-on-one.
A bachelor’s degree, with at least three years’ relevant experience (e.g. nonprofit leadership, fundraising, community outreach, or education).
A track record of building trust and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
The administrative experience needed to maintain clear records and work remotely with the team in Oxford.
A willingness to travel—occasionally internationally—and to work non-traditional hours.
A proven work ethic allied with a servant-heart.
Terms and conditions
This is a new position within the United States, to be filled as soon as feasible. It offers a competitive US salary and a generous travel budget.
The contract is for two years in the first place, subject to successful half-yearly reviews. Beyond that point we hope to make the position permanent.
Preferred qualifications
A calling as a church office-bearer (e.g. minister, elder, deacon).
A wide network within US Reformed and Presbyterian circles.
Experience of having raised support in the not-for-profit sector.
Familiarity with the UK and European church context (or experience in international ministry support).
Proficiency in donor management systems and in the creation of development materials.
Application process
The process will be conducted as follows:
Initial Screening: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with shortlisted candidates notified within two weeks of submission.
Interviews: Selected applicants will participate in online interviews with Westminster UK’s leadership. Interviews will focus on your theological alignment and consistent character, relational approach, and relevant experience.
Reference Checks and Final Assessment: We will conduct reference checks and invite finalists for an in-person interview with key stakeholders in the US.
Offer: The successful candidate will be offered the position promptly, with onboarding to follow.
We encourage prompt applications, as we aim to fill this role swiftly. If you have questions, please contact our Director, Jonathan Winch. We look forward to partnering with someone who shares our zeal for the gospel.
