Rev Dr Ian Hamilton

President

  • Dr Ian Hamilton (BA, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow; BD, University of Edinburgh; MPhil, University of Edinburgh, 1980; DD: GPTS) has been a pastor for thirty five years, most recently in Cambridge Presbyterian Church. He is a Trustee of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, where he is also adjunct professor. He has previously lectured at London Seminary and Edinburgh Theological Seminary and served as Editor of the Banner of Truth Trust Magazine and Board member. He is an author and international speaker.

Dr Donald John MacLean

President-elect

  • Dr Donald John MacLean (BSc, Heriot-Watt University; PhD, University of Wales, Trinity Saint David) is an elder of Cambridge Presbyterian Church, where he preaches regularly. With a background in senior leadership in the corporate finance sector, Dr MacLean also serves as a trustee of the Banner of Truth and of Tyndale House, Cambridge. He is editor of Foundations, the theological journal of Affinity, and of The Presbyterian Network, and writes for Ligonier's TableTalk and other Reformed publications. He is married to Ruth and has two children, Hannah and Jonathan.

Rev Dr Peter Naylor

Chair of Biblical Studies

  • Dr Peter Naylor (BA, University of Wales, Cardiff; DPhil, Oxford University) is the founding minister of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Cardiff. He has taught Old Testament Exegesis at the Evangelische Theologische Faculteit, Leuven (1987-1990) and Old Testament and Ecclesiology at Wales Evangelical School of Theology (1999-2010). For many years he served as Editor of the magazine of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of England and Wales, EPCEW.

Rev Dan Peters

Chair of Homiletics

  • Dan Peters (BTh. Edinburgh Theological Seminary, MTh. Edinburgh Theological Seminary) is the minister of Newcastle Reformed Evangelical Church. He previously served as the assistant minister of Cambridge Presbyterian Church and has also lectured at Edinburgh Theological Seminary.

Rev Dr Peter Sanlon

  • Dr. Peter Sanlon (BA, University of Oxford; MPhil & PhD, University of Cambridge) is author of 'Simply God: Recovering the Classical Trinity' (IVP) and 'Augustine's Preaching' (Fortress). Previously Peter has taught at St. John's College, Nottingham; Oak Hill College, London and Union School of Theology, Wales. He is the founding minister of Tunbridge Wells Presbyterian Church

ADJUNCT PROFESSORS

Dr Benedict Bird

  • Dr. Benedict Bird (MA, University of Cambridge; ThM, Westminster Theological Seminary; PhD, University of Cambridge) is Adjunct Professor of New Testament Greek at Westminster. His doctoral work was on John Owen and the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints. He has taught Biblical Greek and Hebrew at London Seminary and serves as a trustee of London Seminary and Ebenezer Chapel, Luton. Before training as a theologian he worked for twenty years as an intellectual property lawyer in London. He and his wife are members of Cambridge Presbyterian Church.

Rev David Pfeiffer

  • David Pfeiffer (MA, University of Cambridge; PGCE, University of Cambridge; Theological Studies at London Seminary), is a minister of Whaddon Road Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPCEW) in Cheltenham. He is the current Moderator of EPCEW, and he also examines prospective ministers in New Testament Greek. He has been a visiting lecturer in Old Testament at London Seminary since 2017.

Rev Tom Hutchings

  • Rev Tom Hutchings (BA, MA, University of Cambridge; DipTh, Ridley Hall, Cambridge) was the Associate Vicar of St Andrew the Great, Cambridge, before moving to Kingham Hill School, where he oversees the work of the Chaplaincy and teaches A Level Classical Civilisation and Theology.  He is a member and elder of Oxford Presbyterian Church. Tom loves sport and exercise, crosswords, board games and reading. He is married to Andria, and they have four children.

Mr Jonathan Winch

  • Jonathan joined Westminster in 2020 after a 31-year career in secondary education. He led the North East’s top state secondary school for twelve years before moving to assist a school in Special Measures in S Yorkshire. As Executive Principal he was responsible for five years for academic standards across a family of schools serving disadvantaged communities. A founding elder (and pianist) of All Saints Presbyterian Church, Jonathan is married to Julie. Out of work, when not with their family or church family they love to walk, hand in hand, across windswept Wainwright fells.

Mr Jonathan Broom

  • Jono's background combines business and education: with fifteen years' management experience within large corporates, Jono has also owned and managed a pre-school in Johannesburg, South Africa, together with his wife. Jono and Isabel have four lovely daughters; formerly members of Rynfield Presbyterian Church in Benoni, South Africa, the family now worships at Durham Presbyterian Church. Jono plays the Blues Harmonica and is an enthusiastic runner.

Mr Paul Austin

  • With Masters degrees in both librarianship and theology, and having built the theological library of African Bible University under Dr O. Palmer Robertson, Paul has been able to realise his vision for a Reformed library in the heart of Newcastle that serves both students and the wider Christian community. To the additional roles of academic tutor and teacher of introductory Greek Paul brings prior experience as teacher of English, Greek and music. Married with two children, Paul and his family are members of Durham Presbyterian Church.
