What does it take for a church intentionally to pursue good health?
Join pastors and church leaders in the historic heart of Oxford
for the Lampstand Conference: three days of biblical teaching, reflection and practical equipping for healthy, gospel-driven ministry.
Gather in a historic city shaped by Christian witness
For centuries, Oxford has been a place where questions about the health, doctrine and mission of the Church have been considered with extraordinary consequences.
It was the city where Wycliffe’s work helped lay foundations for the English Reformation; where Latimer, Ridley and Cranmer gave their lives for the truths they proclaimed; where John Owen served as theologian, pastor and Vice-Chancellor of the University. Later, Whitefield and Wesley preached Christ amid the Evangelical Revival.
The Lampstand Conference offers the opportunity to gather in the heart of the same city, to consider again how we can strengthen Christ’s Church for faithful witness to the gospel in our time.
A venue with a rich Christian heritage
The Lampstand Conference will take place at the North Gate Hall, located in the centre of Oxford and next door to Westminster Seminary UK.
Built as a Methodist chapel in 1871, the North Gate Hall later served for sixty years as the home of the Oxford Inter-Collegiate Christian Union. Today, it is home to Oxford Presbyterian Church, and once again serves the proclamation of the gospel in the heart of the city.
What is Lampstand?
Lampstand is a teaching, mentoring and resource ministry committed to strengthening churches in the health of God’s grace through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Lampstand Conference casts a biblical vision for church health and ministry strategies, with a particular focus on the means of grace for spiritual formation, Christ-centred and gospel-driven ministry, and leadership development.
The Lampstand Conference is for pastors, elders, deacons, ministry leaders and laypeople from the UK, Europe and further afield, who are seeking to understand the spiritual and biblical dynamics of church health.
