The Master of Theology (ThM) degree program is aimed to expand and deepen your abilities in ministry through higher-level mentored research, writing and communication.

It is designed for students who possess a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree or its equivalent, helping them pursue further growth in knowledge, piety, and gifts for ordained ministry through higher level mentored research, writing, and communication.

The expected length of the program duration for a full-time ThM student is eighteen months to two years.

HOW IT WORKS

The ThM degree programs follows the British/European research degree model. The supervised research and writing program begins with directed study in research and writing methodology, and in the area of speciality. Three courses of study are selected under the direction of the supervisor, to be completed satisfactorily before beginning the dissertation work.

The research program culminates in the writing of a dissertation and its oral defence before the examining committee, faculty, and invited guests. The student will present a finished dissertation of 30,000–40,000 words.

The degree programme allows students to fulfil directed study requirements by engaging in select modular course offerings, along with participation in seminars in connection with their research program.
