Matija
Matija lives in Cambridge with his wife Martina and two children, Eowyn and Ian. In 2021, having sensed a call to the Christian ministry, he moved with his family to the UK from Croatia to obtain training and preparation. In 2023 he started his MDiv course at Westminster Seminary UK. Matija and his family are worshipping at Cambridge Presbyterian Church.
The Lord has been faithful towards him and his family, as for the last three years Matija has been combining a full-time work as a software engineer, preaching in his local, as well as other churches, and studying at Westminster UK. However, the workload has proved to be a huge challenge, and he is seeking to drop his steady source of income to devote himself more fully to the ministry preparation. Currently he is negotiating a promising internship in London, which would enable him to switch to full-time studies and gain much valuable practical experience.
Matija’s desire is to go back to his home country in due time to plant a Reformed church. Croatia is predominantly a Roman Catholic country, with an extremely sparse Protestant presence. He is hoping to be shaped into a church-planter during his years with Westminster UK, as well as through church internship.
Matija believes that his country needs trained and equipped godly men to carry out the work of the great commission, preaching the gospel and caring for the sheep as humble under-shepherds of God. He trusts he is currently in the best place to be formed into one.
